Op COURAGE (NHS Veterans Mental Health Service)
NHS England’s dedicated mental health and wellbeing service for veterans, Service leavers and reservists. Self-referral or via GP/charity. Offers assessment, trauma therapies, and coordinated support with housing, employment and finances.
Phoenix Heroes
Veteran-led organisation using outdoor activities, fishing retreats, and peer support to rebuild resilience and social connections.
PTSD Resolution
Free, local therapy for veterans, reservists and families experiencing trauma-related mental health difficulties, delivered rapidly by a UK-wide therapist network.
Samaritans
Confidential 24/7 listening support for anyone in distress or suicidal crisis. Veterans and families can call any time to talk through feelings and find a way forward.
The Ripple Pond
Peer support network for adult family members of physically or psychologically injured veterans and serving personnel. Offers safe, understanding spaces to share experiences.

Referral and helpline service that connects veterans to addiction treatment centres across the UK.
Adfam (Family Drug & Alcohol Support)
Supports families of those struggling with addiction, including military families. Provides resources, support groups and advice services.
Alabaré – Homes for Veterans
Offers supported accommodation and specialist services for homeless and vulnerable veterans in the South West, Wales and North of England.
Army Families Federation
Offers financial, housing and legal advice to army families, including those transitioning or in crisis.
Battle Back Centre – Help for Heroes
Delivers adaptive sports and adventure rehabilitation to wounded veterans, enhancing confidence, wellbeing and independence through residential programmes.
Battle Back Recovery Centre (via Help for Heroes)
Though focused on sport and wellbeing, this programme also helps veterans in recovery from addiction regain confidence and purpose.
